Sarah Asher Tua Geronimo is a Filipino recording artist, actress and dancer. Geronimo started her official debut in show business after having won the Star for a Night singing competition and released her first album Popstar: A Dream Come True in 2003. Following her debut, she recorded six more albums: Sweet Sixteen in 2004, Becoming in 2006, Taking Flight in 2007, Just Me in 2008, Music and Me, Christmas Girl in 2009 and One Heart in 2011.Geronimo has had a series of concerts at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila and several worldwide concert tours, often done in conjunction with a new album or movie appearance.
Geronimo appears on television with the musical variety show ASAP. She became the lead actress in the drama Bituing Walang Ningning. She had her film debut in a leading role in A Very Special Love which had a sequel, You Changed My Life. In 2010, she was nominated as Best Actress in FAMAS awards for her performance in You Changed My Life.
In 2009 Sarah was the first and only artist to receive three major awards — the Recording Queen award, the Concert Queen award, and the Box Office Queen award — in GMMSF Box Office Entertainment Awards. She is the first Filipino artist to receive a platinum award for a DVD copy of her concert The Other Side in 2005 and is currently the only artist who has a platinum record for 4 DVDs of her concert. Her fourth one was awarded with triple platinum status in December of 2010.[citation needed] Her full album released on the new format Music Album Phone reached platinum status on its first day of release.
In 2010, Geronimo received from the Aliw Awards the "Best Female Major Concert" award for Record Breaker and the "Entertainer of the Year" award, making her the youngest artist to receive it in history. Barely seven years in the Philippine Music Industry, the Philippine Association Of The Record Industry (PARI) recognized Geronimo as the best-selling artist of the decade for the period 2001-2010 in recognition of her outstanding album sales of more than a million units.
